Playing in the Grass

Last week at Nana's, we put Nickolas in the grass to play. He did not like touching the grass. He was OK as long as it was not touching his skin. Take a look at the first picture....I put him on his tummy and Nana took the picture. He did not want his hands touching the grass!! It was pretty cute. He did get used to it and started actually moving around. But he would not crawl around...he would only walk with his toy.

10 Months Old Today

Nickolas is 10 months old today!! He is doing so much now. He is crawling and exploring everything! We have officially baby proofed the house. He can copy almost anything you can do. He can shake his head, stick out his tongue and so many other things. Nana taught him where his nose is. She will say "nose" and touch her nose to his, now if you say "nose" to him he will put his nose on yours. So cute!! He loves to drop things from his high chair, crib etc. just to watch it fall. His favorite toy right now is a ball. He will drop it and watch it roll, then go get it. He will say "Ba, Ba, Ba" for ball. Of course, he knows who Bailey is. And if he sees a picture of a dog, it is Bailey no matter what. Tiffany has taught him to sit. She says in the bathtub he always likes to stand. She always has to tell him to sit down and makes him sit. Today I was watching him and I told him to sit so I could let go of his hands. He did it!! It is so neat to teach him things!!! He loves to take stuff out of anything. For instance, I have a toy basket here and he will crawl to it and take out toys one at a time and play with them. He has a box with different shaped blocks in it and he loves to take the blocks out. This kid is doing so much! It is hard to list it all. He is still waking up at night. Tiff said it is once a night. He takes a bottle then goes right back to sleep. Just a few more months of this, we hope! Nickolas is learning what "no" means. Since he is crawling it is very important we teach him this! When you tell him no, he will stop what he is doing and look at you, then move on. It's like he is saying, "Really? Do I have to stop?" Ha Ha. He is walking with that toy all the time. It won't be long before he is walking on his own! We can't wait. I am sure I am leaving out about a million new things he is doing. He is such a joy! He is getting harder to watch, but he is also getting so much more fun!!

Oh my little Nickolas

Here he is......stuck. Not sure how he got under there, but Bobby noticed that he was under the chair. He was really stuck. He tried to bend his head and crawl out, but could not do it. So, I got my camera and took a picture, then helped him out. What are we going to do with this little boy!?!?

Ball

Nickolas loves playing with a ball!! He will put it over his head and let it drop. It will roll away and he will crawl to get it and start all over again. It keeps him entertained him for a long time. He can say "bah" for ball. Teaching him to say "Bailey" has helped him say stuff that starts with a "B". He can say Ball, Bailey, Bye and just yesterday Bobby asked him to say "bob" and he said it! OK, really he is just saying "Bah" for everything, but he at least knows how to relate those words to "bah". This kid is going to be so smart. :-)

The ball rolled under the couch...luckily we had backup. I just rolled another one to him.

Look what Nickolas can do!!

A couple of weeks ago Nickolas started walking with this little walker toy thing. It is so cute! He looks way to little to be walking around with this. He does so good. He has not learned how to turn yet. He will go until he can't go anymore then someone has to turn him around. When he is done he will sit down and play with the toys on the front of it. So cute!!!

All over the place!

Mr. Nickolas is everywhere all the time!! He has no interest in sitting in his pack n play anymore. He wants to crawl everywhere and check out everything. He crawled in the floor most of the night and I happened to look over at him and he was doing this. It made me laugh so I just had to get my camera.

He was just holding on and looking at me. So cute!

Then, as usual, he tried to pull up on the chair. I think he was kind of stuck, because when he tried to pull up he couldn't get his feet under him to stand. I am pretty sure that is how he ended up here.

It's almost that time!

Before you know it, Nickolas will be ready for a big carseat!! He weighs enough now, but he still has to wait until his 1st birthday. He will be 10 months old in just a few days. I can't believe it. We went to Babie's R Us today and Wes put Nickolas in this carseat. He seemed to like it. He looks like such a big boy!!

Nickolas, meet your cousin, Hannah.

Jamie and his girlfriend welcomed their baby girl, Hannah Beth Seiber on Thursday, March 12th. Today we introduced Hannah to Nickolas. I was holding Hannah and Nana was holding Nickolas. I said, "Look, Nickolas, it's your cousin Hannah! Can you say baby?" He started whining and reached for me. So me and Nana switched...Nickolas was now in my arms and happy. He did not like me holding the new baby! Sunday's will be interesting at Nana's from now on....
Here she is in Jamie's arms!!! 3 days old.

Nickolas just stares at her. It looks like she is laughing at him...I wonder what he is thinking???

Big day at Nana's!

Last Monday Nickolas went to the doctor because for the past week he had been coughing, etc. He was diagnosed with Bronchitis and they said to keep him at home for at least 24 hours because he was contagious. Then on Wednesday Tiffany was feeding him and he would cry after almost every bite. She took him back to the doctor and they told her that he had blisters on his throat and that's why he was crying. The doctor asked Tiffany if she has noticed Nickolas drooling more than usual. She said yes, and the doctor told her that's because of the blisters. Nickolas wouldn't swallow because his throat was sore! How pitiful! He has had a rough week. So it has been an entire week since Nickolas has been at my house! It was torture. Today I am pretty sure I made it up. I took lots of pictures. Nickolas came in and he was so cute!

He looks so cute in this outfit! Ha ha. Mom said he looked like a little thug. She is right.

He is crawling everywhere!!!! He loves to crawl to chairs so he can pull up on them.

I entertained him for a few minutes in his crib. It didn't take long for him to get bored in there.

He loves these ducks!! They only cost $.50 at WalMart. He also loves to take two things alike and bang them together. It can be two shoes, those ducks, blocks...anything! They just have to be the same before he will do it. So cute!!!!

Look how long his hair looks here.

Close up!

Nana decided it would be cute to give Nickolas a sucker......we didn't think so...

He got it everywhere!!!

He loved it, though. He was drooling all over the place....and it was so sticky. What a mess, Nana!

Nana left and it was just me and Tiffany with him and his sticky sucker. His hands were a mess!! Tiffany is holding him here and not long after this picture, Nickolas reached around with his hand to try to hold on to Tiffany's arm. She will be washing her jacket later. (thanks again, Nana)

After the sucker incident, we just put him in the sink for a quick bath. He loved it in there, but Tiffany spent the whole time washing him and I spent the whole time keeping his hands off of everything! Notice in this picture where Nickolas' right hand is.....this can't be good.

His right hand pretty much never moved, so we were waiting on him to spray us all. Instead, he wanted to drink the water out of the facet.

He loved the water out of the facet..and it turns out he DID push the sprayer with his right hand...he only sprayed himself, though. Whew.

Here he is walking to get Bailey!

Nana reappeared after the sucker and the bath...how convenient! Just in time to play.

And he's off again!!!! This kid will not sit still!
