Sick Baby Update

The doctor came in and checked him out and decided to keep him another night. Everything seems to be improving so this is good. They came to the hospital last night thinking they would just look at him and send him home. They did not prepare to stay this long. So Nickolas has 2 toys he is quickly growing tired of. It is a lot harder on Nickolas this time because he wants to constantly stand up and he is restricted in his crib. Last time he was just learning to sit up so it was easy to watch him. Now he wants to be all over the place!! It is harder on every one. We are thankful that he continues to get better. Hopefully they will go home tomorrow.

This picture was taken last night. It is so cute! Tiffany said he is starting to sleep like this.

The only thing he has hooked to him is this oxygen monitor. It is taped around his big toe and he has no idea.

He loves the balloon!! Of course, he is trying to eat it.

Sick Baby Update

Yesterday his breathing sounded worse and when he would eat anything he would choke on it and cough so much that he would vomit. So, they called his doctor and she suggested to take him straight to Children's. They arrived at the hospital last night around 7pm and they finally admitted him around 4am. What a long night!! They admitted him for a "23 hour watch". His oxygen level is low. It was down to 85. Normal is 93-98. They haven't heard much today from the doctor about his progress. They did an X-Ray last night and his pneumonia has improved! Now he is sleeping peacefully, so no pictures yet. He is hooked up to an oxygen monitor now and it beeps when his oxygen is low. I have been here for about an hour and no beeps so far!! I will try to keep everyone posted.

Sick Baby Update

Nickolas went back to the doctor on Monday and the Nurse said he looked ok and to continue breathing treatments. He goes back to the doctor on Friday for another checkup. They were told if he has a fever to take him back to Children's Hospital. So far no fever!

Sick Baby Update

Tiffany just called with an update on Nickolas. She said the breathing treatments seemed to stop working, so they took him to Children's Hospital this afternoon. After a couple of hours in the waiting room, they finally called him back. They said he has a pocket of pneumonia in his right lung. Because his immune system was week from Bronchiolitis, he has developed pneumonia. They are giving him antibiotics and sending him home. He has a check up tomorrow with his pediatrician at one o'clock. Hopefully all will be well and I will have good news to post. Poor little guy.

Another Photo Shoot!

I just had to take advantage of the nice weather!! I had a photography job on Saturday for one of Tiffany's friends. So Tiff and Nickolas decided to tag along. While we were waiting I took some pictures of the cutest little guy ever!!!! He was a trooper and very photogenic. One of Nickel's nurses said it would be ok for him to be outside. She said it might even help him to get fresh air. He seemed to like being outside and he was so good!!! I tried to go through these and pick my favorite, but I must say that I love all of them. Go ahead and try to pick just one...........

Bronchiolitis

Last week Wes took Nickolas to the doctor because he wasn't feeling well. They gave him some antibiotics and sent him home. Tiffany took him back on Thursday and they told her that he had Bronchiolitis. It effects his lungs and breathing. He received a breathing treatment at the doctor's office. Then they told Tiffany that she needs to give him a breathing treatment every 4 hours. They brought him over and I was able to snap a few pictures of him receiving the breathing treatment. He doesn't mind it at all...he actually loves chewing on it. He goes back to the doctor on Monday for a checkup.

Just Playing

Nickolas came over Saturday night. I am always taking pictures of him up close, so I tried to get a couple of him kind of far away so Nana can see how much he is growing. He loved playing on her bed!! He wouldn't sit still for too long, so I did the best I could.
